The Freedom Tower dream comes true

Iris Software’s One World Trade Center offices are well-suited to serve its financial services clients.

More than 25 years ago, when Iris Software’s founders first arrived in New York City, they immediately set their hearts on having their own offices at the iconic World Trade Center’s Twin Towers. Who wouldn’t want to work out of the world’s best- known address?

Their hopes were shattered when the Twin Towers were destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. As a resolute nation vowed to restore its pride and rebuild the World Trade Center office complex as a tribute to the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks, it revived a small flicker of hope in the minds of the stewards at Iris Software as well.

Now, Iris Software is the proud occupant of its own offices on the 46th floor of One World Trade Center, best known as the Freedom Tower. “It is a dream come true for Iris to service clients out of this office,” said Stanley Mohan, human resources manager at the company. “Standing on top of the world, this place will make you feel open, and it creates an environment for being and to feel creative.” Fittingly, it has a dominant presence of media enterprises and others in technology innovation.

“The building is a global icon, a state-of-the-art workplace, and being part of an inspiring community resonates with how Iris Software positions itself,” said Brett Singer, a senior Iris executive who works out of its Freedom Tower offices.

“Whenever anybody asks our employees, ‘Where do you work?’ and they say, ‘One World Trade Center,’ it is a matter of pride,” Mohan noted. It helps that the building is close to Wall Street and in the hub of the financial services industry. hen its internal processes after achieving Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 Certification in May 2018. The SOC 2 certification is granted after an auditing procedure or assessment. The assessment is designed to make sure that service providers are managing a company’s data with maximum attention to security and protection of clients’ privacy.

“The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) issues this certification, based on five Trust Service Categories, namely confidentiality, security, availability, processing integrity and privacy,” says Ravinder Arora, Chief Information Security Officer at Iris Software.

A prestigious address to serve our clients

Currently, the office houses Iris’ sales and and support personnel. Iris also has the ability to expand its offices in the building at later stages. The clients it supports out of this office include Citi, Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of Montreal, MarketAxess, Lord Abbett & Co. and TD Ameritrade. “We have a lot of our financial services clients in New York, and it is very convenient to bring clients for discussions and service them from our One World Trade Center office,” said Mohan.

On top of the world

The Freedom Tower is designed to inspire. “Light-filled spaces, with flexible and adaptive floorplates, lend themselves to the open, collaborative spaces of modern work,” according to the owners of One WTC. “Floor-to-ceiling windows, with panoramic views of a city bustling with commerce and creativity, surround your team with inspiration and purpose.”

The amenities in the building also serve Iris well. One World Commons, a 25,000 sq. ft. amenity space on the 64th floor is meant for exclusive use of the tenants of One World Trade and their guests. It is powered by Convene, a New York City-based firm that designs and services “premium places to work and meet,” and packs conference and meeting rooms, a game room and a café.
